The inspection report can increase the value and desirability of the home and ensure a faster, smoother sale.
Infrared inspections
Any inspection by MacDonald Property Inspections can be enhanced with Infrared Thermal Imaging, which applies the latest infrared inspection technology to find hidden problems and deficiencies. Our infrared cameras were originally developed for the military to enhance night vision. By applying this technology to home inspections and commercial building inspections reveals invaluable information that can only be discovered with an infrared thermal inspection. An infrared camera can often detect potential problems hidden beneath the finished surfaces of the home, giving you the chance to repair them before they become critical problems.
Mold/Environmental inspections
This type of home inspection may be necessary to get a comprehensive analysis of your home’s indoor air quality (IAQ) or determine the presence of mold, mildew, or other contaminants such as radon that can cause potential health problems.
These services can be performed in conjunction with a home or facility inspection or as a standalone service that can be performed anytime. Specific licensing and state requirements may be applicable.

New Construction inspections
New Construction home inspections are typically performed immediately after a home has been built and is considered ready for occupancy. A professional inspection on newly constructed homes provides invaluable information to potential buyers and to the construction company. It can also detect flaws such as poor insulation, improperly sealed windows and other energy efficiency issues.
Home Warranty inspections
A Home Warrenty inspection is typically performed prior to the expiration of your existing home warranty. It is used to take advantage of the features and benefits provided with your home warranty and to ensure that necessary repairs guaranteed by the warranty are executed before it expires.
Pre-renovation inspections
Prior to embarking on an extensive renovation project, we recommend that owners apply this type of inspection to assess hidden problems that may affect the cost or difficulty of the renovation. If you have radiant heat in your home, for example, performing this type of inspection prior to installing a new floor may first show that no problems currently exist. Then, it can also help the flooring expert you have hired prevent introducing new damage to your home as a result of the renovation
Investigative inspections
This inspection is typically performed when a homeowner suspects a problem exists but does not want to tear out walls or flooring to investigate. An investigative inspection can isolate and identify problems that are not currently visible, but will cause significant problems later. For example, you may want to perform this type of inspection after experiencing a tornado or hurricane, or when you notice unusual pest or insect activity. In many cases, this type of inspection can find the problem before it is irreversible.
Consultation inspections
This inspection type is a unique service offered by MacDonald Property Inspections. It is strictly visual and no written report is provided. It is applied in situations where the client wants a walk-through inspection prior to entering into a contract on the home or property. The inspector will explore the home with the client and point out potential issues that can be identified visually. The inspector’s knowledge of home inspections comes in handy with this inspection type, and the client is welcome to write notes and ask questions. Based on this type of inspection, the client may decide the home is not worth their time to place a contract on it, or they may get the confirmation they need that the price they are offering is appropriate.
